Money Mondays

What is this event? smallmoney-mondays-logo.jpg

Money Mondays are virtual meetings open to current high school seniors and/or their parents where they can receive live, individualized financial aid support for paying for college.  Topics available for discussion include setting up an FSA ID, completing FAFSA, and learning more about paying for college.

Who leads the session?

A variety of FAFSA help professionals will be there. School counselors, college advisers, Financial Aid counselors from various colleges, and GEAR UP staff will be in attendance. Once you are logged into Zoom, a facilitator will greet you and assign you to a private breakout room where you will receive individualized assistance.

When are these held?

Starting in the fall of 2025, Money Mondays will occur every other Monday through the school year. These events run from 6PM-8PM.

How do I sign-up?

There’s no need to register in advance! Your GEAR UP coordinator will send you an email with instructions and a Zoom link on the day of the meeting. The link should not be accessed until the event begins.

What will I need to bring?

Parents will need their student’s social security number, a driver’s license, and tax returns or W2's from jobs  worked from the calendar year before the year in which you are filling out the FAFSA. Parents will need to set up an FSA ID so they can log in and put in financial information. Students should attend this virtual event with their parents, if possible.
