What advice would you give a high school student preparing for postsecondary education?
It's okay if it's scary. It's okay if it feels like leaving here and all your friends is going to be the hardest thing you'll ever do. You just have to get there. You have to go, and you have to find out. If you don't, you'll never know, and it could be the best decision you ever made. OH, and you have a whole crew of people backing you up; they know you can do it. You just have to listen to them, believe in yourself, and get there.
What is something about yourself that people would find interesting?
I wanted to be a farmer! I still might pursue that career. I have worked with organizations all over Western NC that focus on growing food in southern Appalachia. Food was my first love and what brought me back to these mountains.
What do you claim as your hometown?
What do you hope to do professionally following your work with CAC?
Maybe go back to school? Honestly I'm not really sure.
